It took me a while to get this, but wow, it’s such a great lamp! Perfect for evenings, really worth it.
Be careful, it might jump on you and flatten you!

Haha, luckily it’s staying put for now!
That lamp is such a design classic! George Cowardine’s work really stands the test of time. The giant versions are so rare; you almost never see them up for resale. I thought about getting one but couldn’t justify the original price tag. Instead, I repurposed a streetlamp for my living room!
This is so cool! Did you buy it locally or online?

I got it online from Nedgis. They offer a special discount if you email them directly. The official site makes them to order, but you need to reach out to them by email too.
@Reeve
Wait, it’s 4,000 euros? That’s wild!
That’s amazing! By the way, what size bulb does it use?

And it’s about the size of an ostrich egg!
I’m thinking of building one—not as a light but as a swinging arm for my welding machine in the shop.

The base plate weighs about 28kg, and the whole thing together is around 48kg. That might work!
Seeing this throws off my perspective completely! I’m so used to the desk-sized version that my brain refuses to see this as giant. Are you sure that’s not a dollhouse-sized sofa in the photo?

Haha, nope, it’s definitely real! Full-sized and super impressive.
