Front Door Lighting Dilemma

Hey guys, I’m having a bit of trouble with my front door lighting. The recessed light in the ceiling is pretty weak and seems to attract a bunch of wasps. I’d like to replace it with something that provides better light and doesn’t look like a wasp hotel! Any suggestions? I’m also thinking about adding some wall lanterns on either side of my front porch, but I want to get the ceiling light sorted first.

Definitely replace that recessed light! A good option would be a flush-mount ceiling fixture with LED bulbs. They’re energy-efficient and should be bright enough.

For a touch of drama, a pendant light could be the perfect addition to your front porch. It not only enhances the ambiance but also serves as a functional piece. Ensure that the one you select is designed to withstand the elements.

Have you thought about using a motion-activated light? That way, it only comes on when someone approaches your door. It’s a good way to deter pests and save energy.

I’d recommend going with a higher-wattage LED bulb in the recessed fixture. That should provide more light and make it less attractive to wasps.

If you’re looking for something a bit more unique, you could try a fan light. It provides both light and ventilation, which can be helpful during the summer months.
