I’m putting together a 19" rack for my recording studio and I want to include lighting along the front. But most LED strips I’ve bought over the years start making some sort of sound within a year of purchasing them (if not immediately).
Is there any way to know what I order will be silent both acoustically and with RFI?
Buy fixtures with remote drivers for this application. The LED driver should be mounted outside of the recording space, with only the light emitting head inside the recording space.

shit that’s not encouraging! Maybe I’ll can it. I don’t have the space to wire power to a separate room right now.
I’ve never had LED strips make noise. If you get a decent product with a quality power supply, you should be fine. Meanwell are the market leader for LED power supplies. Get a sealed unit one that is rated for outdoor use. Determine the wattage of the strip and allow at least another 20% in sizing the power supply. It will be fine.
