Hey everyone, I’m looking for a simple battery-operated light and buzzer setup for a nightclub. The idea is that I need a remote button (also battery-operated) on the main floor that activates a light upstairs where the DJ is. This is so when someone submits a song request on paper, the DJ gets alerted and knows to pull up the container (we’ve got a pulley system going for song requests).
Using an app for tips won’t work since the DJs prefer cash tips, and most patrons aren’t into using apps for small tips like a dollar or two. I’m hoping to find a low-tech, easy-to-install solution for this! Any ideas? Thanks in advance!
Yo, sounds like a fun setup! I’d look into wireless doorbell kits. They’re battery-operated and you can place the button downstairs with the DJ getting the alert upstairs. Some of those doorbells even have lights that flash when the button’s pressed. Cheap and easy to set up
Hey, have you considered those wireless paging systems? You can set it up so the button downstairs sends a signal to the DJ’s area, and it’ll light up or buzz. Restaurants use them a lot, so it should work for what you need!
Another option could be a wireless bike light or a camping light system. Some of those have remote controls, and they’re battery-powered. A quick press downstairs, and the DJ will get the visual signal upstairs. Plus, they’re usually weatherproof if things get wild!
If you want to get a bit fancy, you could try a small wireless LED setup with a Bluetooth remote. It’s portable, battery-operated, and the DJ can even choose what color the light is. Adds some vibe to the booth too.
Honestly, I’d go with a cheap walkie-talkie system. No need for lights, just press the button downstairs and give the DJ a heads-up. Plus, if anything goes wrong with the pulley system, you’ve got a way to communicate. Two birds, one stone!
