New Here and Already Feeling Like I'm Home!

Hey everyone! Just joined this awesome forum…and I’m so relieved to find a place where people actually get it. am really into lighting and we’re renovating our main floor. I’ve been diving deep into research and making choices, but when I asked my partner for their opinion, I got that glazed-over look. I know picking the right lenses is super specific, and now I’m feeling like I need a support group! Please tell me I’m not the only one who obsesses over getting a 25-degree spot at 3000K with ultra-high rendering LEDs.

Haha, welcome to the club! You’re definitely not alone. My partner thought I was nuts for spending days picking the perfect color temp for our kitchen. The struggle is real, but it’ll be worth it when you see that perfect lighting!

Welcome friend…I am also excited… Your significant other might not share your passion for lighting, but they’ll appreciate the final outcome as long as it’s functional. While you may receive fleeting praise for your efforts, even a minor misstep could lead to endless criticism.

Effective lighting design requires careful consideration. Conceal the light source, whether it’s with a lampshade, recessed fixture, or discreet strip light. Ensure easy control with switches, dimmers, motion sensors, or voice commands. Remember, the investment of time and energy in well-planned lighting will be amply rewarded.

Oh man, I feel you. Lighting is such an art, and unless you’re into it, people just don’t get it. But hey, at least you’ve got us now! That 25-degree spot is going to look killer.

You’re definitely not the only “crazy” one around here! I get so much flak for obsessing over the right fixtures, but nothing beats the feeling when you get it just right. Keep at it!

You’re not alone, trust me. My partner basically hands me the budget and says, “do what you want.” :joy: You’re going to nail that renovation, I’m sure of it!
