Hey everyone, I was updating my paperwork in Lightwright and noticed that some of my 14-degree S4 fixtures were showing up as 10-degree. When I tried to fix it, my VWX file swapped the symbols with this weird garbage rectangle.
I think the issue is because the 14-degree symbol was listed as a 10-degree in the resource manager. How can I fix this so I get the right symbol and everything is accurate in Lightwright? I tried editing the symbol, but that didn’t seem to do the trick. Any ideas?

Sounds like a classic resource manager mix-up. I’d check if you have both 10-degree and 14-degree symbols in your resource manager and make sure the correct one is assigned to your fixture type. If that doesn’t work, you might need to re-import the symbol from a clean file.

I’ve run into this before! What worked for me was manually changing the instrument type in the Object Info Palette, then saving it as a new symbol. After that, re-sync everything with Lightwright.

Could be a VWX to Lightwright communication issue. Have you tried running a Refresh Instruments command after updating the symbols? That usually helps sync things back up for me.

It’s possible that your 14-degree symbol got mixed up with another instrument in the Lightwright settings. I’d check the Lightwright data exchange preferences to make sure it’s pulling the correct symbol from VWX.
This sounds like something that could be fixed by cleaning up your classes. If your symbol classes got messed up or if VWX isn’t assigning the right symbol, Lightwright might pull the wrong info. Try resetting the classes and see if that helps.
