Warm Lights for Garage Workbench?

Hey everyone,

I’ve got some pretty bright lights in my garage already, but I’m looking for a warmer, ambient light to use over my workbench for when I’m working on models. I’d like something around 2700K or less, and I’ll use a clamp workbench light when I need extra focus.

Any suggestions for warm lights that fit this description? I’m having a hard time finding them.

Thanks in advance!

I recently installed some GE Relax bulbs in my garage, and they’re around 2700K. They provide a nice warm light and have a good CRI, which helps with seeing colors more accurately.

Hey, I’ve had good luck with the Philips 2700K LED bulbs. They give off a nice warm light and are great for creating a cozy workspace. You can usually find them at most home improvement stores

Amazon has some great warm LED flood lights that are dimmable and come in various temperatures. Look for those that specify ‘soft white’ or ‘warm white.’ They usually fall under the 3000K mark.

I’m also a fan of warmer colors like 2700K and 3000K for home use. A common mistake is to think that cooler light colors (4000K or 5000K) mean more light output (lumens), but they’re separate things. Just find the light output you need and make sure you get a good CRI for accurate color. 80 CRI is decent, but 90 CRI is way better.

For focused light (1,200 lumens): Philips 3000K LED Bulb

For softer light (1,100 lumens): Feit Electric 3000K LED Bulbs

It’s tough to find lights that warm because they’re usually not great for workspaces. 3000K is about the lowest you’d want to go.

Alternatively, you could just mount some light sockets on a piece of wood and use whatever bulbs you prefer.
