Who else loves adding lights to projects?

We always try to add unique lighting to our projects. It makes the space look amazing and stand out after dark.

What’s the name of the lighting here? Looks like some kind of continuous LED strip.

Not sure exactly, but we got it from SiteOne.

These are often called LED strip or tape lights. You can find different sizes, densities, and brightness levels for them. If you live in a rainy area, though, they might not last long, even with waterproofing. We’ve seen them fail within two years. For rainy climates, I recommend integrated hardscape lights like Kichler models. They last over a decade.

This looks great but seems a little too bright for the setting.

We agree, but the customer wanted it that bright. Usually, we hide it behind a rail for a softer look.

I get it. Customers know what they want in their space. It still looks clean and inspires me to start my own project.

@Ben
Exactly! As long as it follows code, we make it happen.

As an electrician, I’m impressed. Very nice work.

Thank you, really appreciate that.

This is way classier than string lights. I also love those patio stones—they look fantastic.

Is that Techno Bloc Blu Grande? The color variation looks different from the shale gray we installed.

With no railing, that lighting is needed. That’s a risky height!

We suggested adding a railing, but the client didn’t want it. She preferred bright lights instead.

It looks cool, but I’d be too clumsy to survive without a railing!

Once the plants grow in, they’ll define the edge better and soften any falls.

@Wes
Exactly, and there’s also a set of steps leading to the courtyard. Originally, a patio cover was planned, but it didn’t fit the budget. The client has added outdoor furniture to the area now.

Lighting is like jewelry for a landscape.

Totally agree. We always suggest lighting to our clients—it’s worth it to enjoy the beauty after work hours. We even leave conduits in case they decide to add lighting later.
